IRCTC is India’s go-to platform for booking train tickets, but using it feels like a battle. The interface is cluttered, the navigation is confusing, and the whole experience is overwhelming—especially for new users. From finding the right train to completing payments, the process is far from seamless. I wanted to reimagine IRCTC as a simpler, faster, and more intuitive platform that makes booking stress-free.

Since I couldn’t conduct user interviews, I turned to online reviews, forums, and competitor analysis. Common frustrations included slow load times, unclear seat selection, and a complicated checkout process. People often preferred third-party apps like MakeMyTrip and RedBus because of their cleaner UI and smoother booking flow. My goal was to bring that same clarity and ease to IRCTC while keeping its core functionality intact.

The redesigned IRCTC web app makes booking tickets simple and hassle-free. The new layout guides users through the process step by step, so finding trains and selecting seats is quick and easy. A cleaner design helps reduce clutter, while a smoother checkout process ensures payments go through without frustration. With a focus on speed and usability, the web app now feels modern, intuitive, and easy to navigate for anyone booking a ticket.
